• Choose a topic- A topic that you feel you are best at. It could be anything, related to sports, music, food, travel, etc.. For example, I was a badminton player back in school and college. Today, I am a marketing professional who knows digital marketing. I have chosen a topic for my new blog which will be about the sport badminton and I will use my knowledge of digital marketing to promote and earn from my blog. Isn’t it awesome? Think of the topic that you are really passionate about and see how easy it becomes for you to write around that topic. Well the whole point is choose a topic which is less competitive and is your favorite.
• Domain name search– There are options for free blogging websites as well. But if you are thinking of monetizing or self dependency then it is recommended to have your own domain name for the blog. Once you have identified the topic, look for a domain name which closely related to your topic. Here are some websites that you can explore for ideas. • Domain & Hosting buying options for your blog– Once you have finalised the name of the domain, you should head over to domain/hosting service providers. You can check out Godaddy, Bigrock, Hostinger, Hostgator, Bluehost and similar websites for domain and hosting options. In hosting opt for linux shared web hosting because it is good enough for a beginner’s website.
• Install CMS (content management system) platform– Next step is to identify a CMS platform with which you can start designing your website. Mind you, CMS platform is the best to use for a non-coder. This website itself is built on wordpress, one of the popular and easiest CMS platform to build a website. Go for wordpress once you have bought domain and hosting.

Tip: Start blogging consistently for 3 months, and then start looking at analytics and numbers. Dont waste your energy worrying about the numbers. Remember, blogging is a journey which gives you result with time.
